Over the last 10 years Christyn Rittenhouse has created a thriving skin care and massage business in Rockford Illinois .  As a proud 1999 graduate of the prestigious Chicago School of Massage Therapy, she has a diverse background in several modalities including neuro-muscular therapy, chair, acupressure, sports, barefoot, cupping massage, esthetics, and qigong.  She learned early the vital importance of being versatile in the massage industry.  Christyn has certifications in Fijian Massage (2004), Ashiatsu (2004), and Cupping Massage (2005). Her practice in barefoot massage started over 5 years ago.  She has extensive and continued training with Fijian Massage founder, Lolita Knight.

 She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University (1994).

Christyn has found that Fijian massage is physically the least demanding for the therapist to perform while being the most effective for the client. Because of the positioning of the client on floor mats, the therapist uses leverage and body weight with ease, creating maximum results.  Fijian massage can accomplish twice the amount of work in half the time.  Clients are thrilled and loyal.  Ninety percent of her massage practice is done exclusively with her feet.

"When I first came across barefoot massage I fell completely and totally in love with it.  For many reasons I knew this was the modality for me. Before Fijian Massage in order to keep tendonitis of my forearms and hands at bay I had to limit the number of clients I could see in a week.  However, that all changed once I started practicing Fijian massage.  The days of continual icing and evenings spent massaging the pain from my arms and hands are long gone.  I hear over and over from students how shocked they are at the force they can deliver with such ease. 'Shouldn't I be working harder?' they ask.  My answer is always the same:' Nope. No longer necessary.'

While I feel very blessed to have such wonderful clients my newest passion is teaching!  My clinic time continues to foster new and exciting ideas, however, my natural path leads me to share these ideas with the world.  It is with great love and joy that I bring these amazing techniques to the massage community.  My intent to give you all the tools you need to develop  (or convert to) a thriving Fijian Massage practice.
